He Obliged....

A few days ago, I bought Olivia the newest Pinkalicious book, that is out for Halloween...

So tonight at bedtime, I asked Jacob if he wanted to read it to her. He thought about it for a minute and then asked if I had to write the title of the book on his reading log for school. I assured him that only the date and my initials are all that his teacher needs. After thinking it over some more, he decided to oblige and read it to her. He said he would do it because he had glanced at it earlier and "it has cool pictures". Oh, uh yeah right son. Whatever you say :)
Thanks for being a good big brother, Jacob!

Class Blog

Jacob has great teachers this year and somehow in their spare time, they update a weekly class blog. I don't know how they manage the time to do it, but I am oh so grateful that they do! Despite living in Houston for over 10 years, we are still tried and true DALLAS COWBOYS fans! I guess once a fan, always a fan! And rightfully so, Jacob and Olivia are following in our footsteps......Daddy might have something to do with this......I'm just sayin'!

Answered Prayers

Today I am thankful and filled with a happy heart! Olivia had a follow up appointment with "Dr. G", her orthopedic surgeon and got a good report! He said her range of motion was great and she was free to do any activities that she wants to do! Praise the Lord!!! We are so thankful for a good doctor and so thankful for a God who heals and answers prayers. I just want to say thank you to all those who prayed for me this morning......my stomach was in knots and your prayers meant a lot!!!

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Wordless Wednesday

Kentucky Continued....

Yes, I am going back to the road trip this summer! One of these days, I will get these posts about our trip finished!!!! So.....we got to Louisville around dinner time on Monday and had all week to spend time with sisters, cousins, etc. We had lots of fun and the kids LOVED getting to play with their cousins, many of which they were meeting for the first time! We even got to go out for an adult only night (thanks Aunt Cynthia)! We went to a beautiful farm and vineyard in the hills of Indiana. They had a delicious restaurant complete with their own grown vegetables on the menu! The kids got to feed animals, take a hay ride, pick fruit and play in a barn. Some of us even got to sample the wine :) What a FUN day!

The next day, we had a big family BBQ to honor the bride and groom! Michelle outdid herself with all of the food and preparations and it turned out great. Olivia and I played cornhole for the first time! It was a lot of fun....even though neither one of us was very good :)

Smores....yum! And silly Elliott!Whew, okay that gets us through to the wedding festivities that started on Friday. I'll save the last post for all things wedding related.

Wonderwild!

We celebrated Olivia's birthday at a new indoor playground called Wonderwild! The kids had a lot of fun running, sliding, twirling, and playing!!! After all that playing it was time for cake and ice cream!
