On Saturday Jacob had his first flag football game. It was actually a scrimmage, which was a good thing because our coach was sick and couldn't be there. A few of the dads stepped in to help coach, but I don't think any of the boys have played before so it was a bit of a challenge :) The practice is immediately before the game which made for a long hot morning. Olivia found ways to keep herself entertained....a dirt field! 
Jacob was given the #1 jersey and the coaches (dads) put him in the Center position. He caught on pretty fast and loved snapping the ball to the quarterback! 
Little sister had to play the part too, naturally! 
After practice, we switched fields and got started with the scrimmage. Wearing a mouth guard was a new experience and Jacob was fixated on messing with it during the game!

Overall, the team did fairly well considering the lack of experience and having no official coach. Hopefully next week will be even better!!!
