Tonight as I was putting Jacob to bed we had a discussion on Jesus and Heaven....
J: Where is Heaven? Is it still on the earth like when I let a balloon go and it floats up in the sky?
Mommy: Well, no one knows exactly where Heaven is but yes it is kind of a part of the Earth but you can't see it.
J: When you die does your heart just fly up in the air and go with you?
Mommy: Well, I don't think we really need our hearts in Heaven. Our bodies won't need the same things they do here on Earth. We will be more like angels.
J: So when you go there do you keep getting old or do you stay the same?
Mommy: No, you don't get older, you stay the way you are.
J: Good! Do they have a pet store there?
Mommy: ummmm I am not sure. Nobody has ever been there and come back to tell us what its really like so we have to trust what the Bible says. But I do think there are animals there.
J: Well I hope they do because then they could have dog angels.
Mommy: That would be silly to see Abby (our dog) flying around wouldn't it?
J: (laughs) yeah.....and what about slushies? Do they have slushies in heaven?
Mommy: I bet they do!
J: Oh good! Then I will really like it there!!!

God, so sweet, pure, and innocent! Very touching, huh?
What a good mommy you are - I would have panicked during this conversation. Not too sure how to handle it. I do now though - thanks for sharing this darling conversation
Slushies make everything better!!!
So cute! I love the way kids think so innocently.
so sweet!
I like the way you described Heaven as being a part of Earth that you can't see. That is exactly how I imagine it. I love having these kind of conversations with my kids. I think I learn more from them than they learn from me.
